In-home counseling is the primary service of Building Stronger Families, in the San Antonio, Texas, area. Many people call me because they're confused about their relationship and are unsure of what to do. I help people who are contemplating divorce, are depressed, have PTSD, want to control their anger, have violence in their relationship, or who have been abused, just to name a few. As a Certified Anger Resolution Therapist I have tools that help anger and rage clients start change quickly. I have specialized training with various acupressure techniques such as EFT and REMAP which have been very successful with emotional trauma, often bringing relief within minutes. I also have training in four specialties by the International Critical Incident Stress Management Foundation, famous for their work in disasters and trauma.
Most people who see me have resolution to their concerns within one to five sessions, usually about three. Some situations did need treatment for several months (uncommon.) Those of us who are outcome oriented have sayings such as this: "If you're not getting results by session three, fire your counselor and get someone else." My recent work with probationers (substance abuse relapse prevention) resulted in many having better marriages, and they also reported having better relationships with their children. They also said their children were happier and misbehaved less. A result of this was the primary goal - they told me they would not dare take drugs/alcohol again because doing so would destroy their new relationships. In-home counseling helps in that you don't have to keep rescheduling because of some inconvenience. Choose a location that is safe and reasonably comfortable such as your home or office. Sometimes a different location may be preferable, as long as it's appropriate. No need to juggle your schedule and fight traffic anymore. Let me come to you! If you need to get away we may meet at the office at Woodlawn Lake, some other location you set up such as a library or restaurant, or we may arrange for telephone sessions after our first meeting.
